‘KEEP YOUR HEAD HIGH’, A PLAYLIST - click the image or this link to download it.
~ It has been quite some time since I posted my last “happy” playlist, so I give you a mix of 20 of my favourite happy songs. I’ve been listening to this playlist a lot lately and I was able to fit in there basically all my favourite kinds of music. There’s a gentle gradient throughout this mix: it starts slightly indie electronic and chillwave, and ends with some cute indie pop songs. It includes songs by Foster the People, Bombay Bicycle Club, M83 and many more amazing artists. I’ve posted this one on 8tracks as well, so you can click here to listen to the mix. Please let me know what your thoughts were on the playlist, once you’ve listened to it, and don’t forget to like this post if you intend to download the playlist.

When he woke in the woods in the dark and the cold of the night he’d reach out to touch the child sleeping beside him. Nights dark beyond darkness and the days more gray each one than what had gone before. Like the onset of some cold glaucoma dimming away the world. His hand rose and fell with each precious breath.

‘Vertigo’ by Anne Stevenson
Mind led body
to the edge of the precipice.
They stared in desire
at the naked abyss.
If you love me, said mind,
take that step into silence.
If you love me, said body,
turn and exist.
‘An Old Waterford Woman’ by Mary Devenport O’Neill
On the road over head,
To the passers-by,
‘Listen,’ she said,
‘Inside this cliff are the dead.
They cry
Because they are dead.’
‘You hear,’ said I,
‘The cry
Of the wind in the hollow face
of the cliff:
Within the cliff there is only earth.’
‘And what,’ she said,‘Are the dead
But earth?’
